Dr. Jianhua Shen
MD (China, *NLO), RPSGT, PhD

Dr. Shen, is an assistant professor of psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. He received training in clinical medicine and separately obtained a Master of Medicine degree in psychiatry in China. As senior visiting scholar, he received a post-doctorial education in biobehavioral medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA.

In Canada, Dr. Shen has obtained a PhD degree in medical sciences at the University of Toronto (U of T), and completed fellowship in sleep and psychosomatic medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, U of T.

Dr. Shen's main research interest is on sleep disturbances in psychiatric disorders, such as depression. As well, he is interested in doing research in international sleep and mental health. He has published close to 100 articles; the majority of them are peer-reviewed original research and review papers, but there are also book chapters and books.
